If you read what I wrote, you can see that I don't have a problem with it. However, EA only ever has less than a year to implement new features and if this particular element is their big thing and other major problems won't be fixed or essential game features won't be included, then I would be incredibly disappointed. So technically those things are related.
I will be incredibly pissed. I'm mainly a career mode player and I believe this game has so much potential if only the efforts would be made. I mean look at what a game like NBA2k offers in this area and compare this to Fifa which arguably has an even bigger audience. Imagine a very light version of Football Manager combined with the Fifa engine. All of this would be pretty easy to implement and it would open an entirely new market.
They could've just added a whole new mode with women's football as a DLC (for free, though it's EA we're talking about). But I understand why they're doing this, to get more females into playing the game, but I agree with you, if they don't focus on career mode this year I'm not going to buy it and just gonna stick playing Fifa 15.
There's a whole wishlist on /r/FIFACareers and the EA forum about career mode, there are easy adjustments to make that mode so much more enjoyable. The E3 thing is going to be graphics, improved goalkeepers and probably some FUT.
And how many of these women are in to football? Of those women, how many are in to video games? And of this subgroup, how many would be interested in paying 60-80 bucks just because of the inclusion of this feature? Your math doesn't add up. I never said female sport was illegitimate and I absolutely applaud their message. However, fut16coin don't think this particular feature is what the game was lacking and making this their new key feature risks to leave their real target audience disappointed.
Sure, there are A LOT of broken stuff that need to be fixed, but this is something I've been wanting since like FIFA07. And they haven't said that they're NOT going to fix other stuff. This is definitely not going to be the only new thing in the next game.
Women's football will never be at the same level as the men's, but this might at least make the sport somewhat more equal. I think is great for the development of the women's football, or at least make people more interested.
